Woman killed in tragic boating accident at Lake Pueblo State Park

A woman died in a tragic boating accident at Lake Pueblo State Park on Saturday.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) said that a 43-year-old female made contact with the engine propeller on a powered watercraft at about 4 p.m. on Saturday near Denver Cove, located mid-lake near the north shore.
Park rangers and first responders received a 911 call, and a park ranger patrol boat escorted the boat with the victim to the North Shore Marina, where more park rangers and Pueblo West Fire Fighters were waiting.
Firefighters tried life-saving measures, but the Pueblo County Coroner pronounced the victim deceased at 5:14 p.m.
CPW said that the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
“CPW offers condolences to the family and friends of the victim and everyone involved in the incident,” said Joe Stadterman, LPSP Manager.
