Douglas County’s 23rd Judicial District Attorney charged a man for murder after he allegedly stabbed his mother to death and critically injured his sister at a Castle Pines apartment complex last week.

On Friday, Douglas County Judge Daniel Worhola reviewed the charges Messiah Williams, 18:  first-degree murder; first-degree attempted murder, assault and tampering with physical evidence, according to the 23rd Judicial District.

At 11:36 p.m. on July 20, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at The Madison Apartments in the 1300 block of Sweet River Circle, east of Castle Pines. Inside a unit, deputies found a woman unresponsive and another woman suffering from critical stab wound injuries.

The unresponsive woman, later identified as Williams’ mother, died on-scene. The other woman, his sister, underwent a lifesaving operation in the hospital and is expected to survive, according to authorities.

In the police’s arrest affidavit, authorities said Williams was found nude walking northbound on Crossbridge Circle near Westbridge Drive, where deputies arrested him.

A day before the stabbing, Williams was allegedly kicked out of a local substance addiction treatment facility, before his mother, Veronica Ann Davila, 41, agreed to take him in that Saturday, according to the affidavit.

It noted Williams didn’t normally live in his mother’s apartment and was labeled homeless.

On Sunday evening, Williams was in the apartment with his mother and sister, Trinity Williams, 20, who heard her mother in the kitchen gasping for air, according to the affidavit.

“When she entered the kitchen area, she saw Messiah standing over Veronica stabbing her with a knife,” the affidavit said.

No motive was apparent to investigators.

“Trinity tried to save her mother,” the affidavit continued, adding that’s when Messiah allegedly attacked his sister.

Before collapsing on the kitchen floor, Davila attempted to stop her son from allegedly attacking his sister, according to the affidavit.

At 11:35 p.m., Douglas County dispatch received a call from Trinity Williams, who said “I’m bleeding out! Hurry! … Me and my mom are bleeding out! My brother stabbed us … I am dying right now!”

While weak and struggling to respond, Trinity Williams told arriving authorities the name of her brother, who, at the time, was suspected of disposing of or hiding all his clothing and fleeing, according to the affidavit.

After his arrest, Messiah Williams denied to investigators harming his mother or sister — adding he hadn’t seen them in a long time, according to the affidavit.

Davila was slashed across the face, according to the court document, and a sharp force injury to her abdomen. Trinity Williams survived cuts to her left eyebrow, right brachial and a superficial laceration to the left side of her neck.

The Castle Pines apartment stabbing remains under investigation.

Messiah Williams’ next court date is scheduled for Oct. 3.
