Man dies after driving into off-ramp barrier on I-225 in Aurora, police say

A man died after driving into an off-ramp barrier, while heading northbound along Interstate 225 on Saturday, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 5 p.m. at the northbound I-225 East Alameda Parkway off-ramp, authorities said.

Police said the driver, in a GMC Yukon, was seen weaving in and out of traffic before veering to the right side and striking the ramp’s barrier.

The man died on the scene, according to the police.

Speed and alcohol are presumed to be contributors in the crash, the police said.

Police said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
