One dead after overnight auto-pedestrian crash in southeast Denver

One person is dead after a vehicle hit a pedestrian in Denver’s Hampden neighborhood Wednesday night.

Police first responded to the scene of a crash between a motorist and pedestrian in the area of Parker Road and Havana Street near the border with Aurora just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, the Denver Police Department said Thursday morning.

Upon arrival, authorities pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene, police said. The motorist remained on the scene and police did not suspect that they were impaired.

Police have made no arrests or citations about the incident at this time, and the case is under investigation, they said.
