Over 1,000 flights delayed at Denver International Airport due to severe weather threat

Over a thousand flights are delayed and 33 are canceled going into and out of Denver International Airport on Sunday as thunderstorms threaten the area.
As of 6:30 p.m., 1,001 flights were delayed, according to airline tracker Flight Aware.
Impacted airlines include Southwest Airlines, which has experienced 339 delays. United was at 299 delays while SkyWest saw 180 delays, according to Flight Aware.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in Denver until 8 p.m.
