Ice cream man: Biden turns heads with trio of dessert stops

He’s still at it.

Former President Joe Biden may no longer be in the White House, but his famous ice cream habit is going strong.

Biden, 82, has visited at least three ice cream shops within the last two weeks, one in his native Delaware and two in nearby Maryland.

He was spotted at Double Dippers in Rehoboth Beach over the weekend, reportedly ordering a large waffle cone with soft-serve vanilla.

That came after Biden was seen July 28 at a Baskin-Robbins in Kensington, Maryland, according to Fox 5 DC, and on Aug. 1 at another Baskin-Robbins, this time in Bethesda, just outside of Washington.

Biden was known for his ice cream habit during his days in the Senate and the White House, often stopping for a cone while on official business or on vacation in Delaware. Like President Donald Trump, Biden does not drink or smoke, and so ice cream appears to be his vice of choice.

Ironically, Biden ended his re-election bid last year on July 20, 2024 — National Ice Cream Day. But he has clearly kept up the habit during his post-presidency, much as he’s continued his pre-presidential habit of taking the Amtrak from Wilmington to Washington. He’s even asked for ice cream aboard the train, per the New York Post, but was told that isn’t an option and took a muffin instead.

Biden revealed in May that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. He expressed optimism about the treatment despite the disease spreading to his bones.

“The expectation is we’re going to be able to beat this. It’s not in any organ. My bones are strong. So feeling good,” Biden said in May.
