Off-road influencers killed in crash after vehicle rolls 650 feet down rockfield in Canada
According to a report from Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the couple behind the popular Toyota World Runners YouTube channel died in a crash on August 7.
Identified as Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans, the couple was in the interior of British Columbia when the wreck occurred, near Trout Lake in the West Kootenay region. The couple was known for posting about off-roading, vehicle builds, and traveling throughout North and South America.
When rescuers arrived at the scene, Matthew was found deceased while Stacey was found with severe injuries away from the crash site. She was stabilized and taken to a local hospital, but passed away later that night.
Search and rescue crews reported that it wasn’t clear what led to the crash, but that the vehicle was found to have fallen about 650 feet down a rockfield, rolling numerous times.
Another vehicle was with them at the time and was able to call for help, expediting the response.
The couple’s last video posted to YouTube was about off-roading on Vancouver Island, shared a few days before their deaths. The channel had more than 200,000 subscribers.
Condolences go out to those impacted by these tragic deaths.
