Denver weather: Continued rain showers Monday with monsoonal flow the driving factor

Rain returns Monday across metro Denver as monsoonal flows continue to pump moisture into Colorado for the last week of August.
Denver residents can expect a chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. North winds to blow between 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tonight there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Northeast winds around 6 mph become light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Cooler temperatures are expected for the remainder of the week, with highs staying in the upper 70s to low 80s each day.
Rain is more than likely as well, funneling into the state on a westward flow while being wrapped around from a high pressure ridge sitting over New Mexico.

Wednesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 3 p.m., then showers and thunderstorms likely after 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Light and variable wind becoming north around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Thursday: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 80.
