Denver weather: Less rain action Friday heading into Labor Day weekend

Metro Denver should see a lull in rain storm action Friday but still some precipitation is possible in the late afternoon and early evening.
Denverites can expect a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Light and variable winds become north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Southwest winds around 6 mph become light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Most of the rain will stay in the northern parts of Colorado Friday, but better chances of rain across the northern Front Range are possible on Saturday.
Sunday and Monday dry out and the sun returns nearly all day long as the last unofficial weekend of summer plays out.
Meteorological fall starts Monday (Labor Day) as well, with highs back into the low 80s across the city. This trend will last for a few days into early September but not for long as possible rain showers return around Wednesday next week.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming north northeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
Labor Day: Sunny, with a high near 82.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 82.
