Bicyclist dies one day after Denver hit-and-run crash

Denver police are searching for a motorist involved in a hit-and-run crash that ended up killing a bicyclist over the weekend.

The crash occurred early morning Saturday near West 14th Avenue and North Yates Street, according to a Denver Police Department post on social media platform X.

On Saturday, the bicyclist was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

In a Crime Stoppers news release, police said the victim was riding an electric bike.

Police provided a description of the suspected vehicle involved as a larger, dark colored sport utility vehicle.

“The suspect vehicle may have minor to moderate damage on the front bumper and undercarriage,” police said. “The driver fled the scene of this crash without stopping or leaving information required by law.”

The hit-and-run investigation remains ongoing.
