The fan experience inside Empower Field at Mile High includes food options inspired by a Broncos legend.

Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Steve Atwater helped unveil the newest stadium vendor — Atwater Grill — during a Tuesday media tour ahead of Denver’s Week 1 matchup on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Atwater Grill is located outside Section 100.

“This has been in the works for, man, six to eight months or so,” Atwater said. “They first brought it to me as an idea, and we worked on it together. We were able to come up with a great menu and great designs. And the food tastes amazing. … I truly love burgers.”

Atwater and his family taste tested the menu options, which include:

—The Assassin Burger (with jalapenos and bacon jam)

—The Breakfast of Champions Burger (with a fried egg and hashbrown)

—The Hit Burger (with onion rings, jalapenos and barbeque sauce)

—A variety of onion rings

Atwater’s personal favorite menu item?

“The Assassin Burger,” Atwater said. “It has some jalapenos on it and a little bit of kick. But not too much kick, because I can’t eat it too spicy. So, just the perfect amount of kick to it. It has some bacon jam. … Just a great burger.”

Atwater Grill joins several local food vendors with new locations inside Empower Field at Mile High:

Entering opener against Titans, Broncos look to start season fast for a change

There is also a new “stadium exclusive souvenir cooler double cocktail” for fans 21 years and older. It will be available at the 106 Bar, 112 IKON Bar, 117 Breck Bar, 123 Bar, 325 Kona Bar, 506 Denver Cocktail, 522 Denver Cocktail, 536 Denver Cocktail and United Club Window Bars.

The stadium will also offer four alcohol-free mocktails — quarter-lemon quencher, the pink punt, huddleberry mojito and pigskin pop — on rotation throughout the season. They will be available in Sections 117, 124, 325, 506 and 536.
