Teen reportedly caught driving 124 MPH in 65 MPH zone along Colorado highway
According to the Broomfield Police Department, an 18-year-old was arrested after reportedly getting caught speeding at nearly twice the posted limit on a Denver metro highway.
The report on the matter indicates that the teen was clocked at traveling 124 miles per hour in a 65 mile-per-hour zone of US 36 near Wadsworth Boulevard. The speed of the SUV that the teen was operating was captured via a LIDAR system.
On top of the excessive speeding, the officer reports that the teen was witnessed weaving in and out of traffic, causing other drivers to slam their brakes.
As a result of the incident, the teen was arrested for excessive speeding and reckless driving.
All suspects accused of crimes are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
