Tim Burchett shoves protester who ‘bumped’ him outside House office building
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) forcefully shoved a protester outside the Longworth House Office Building during an altercation over the Israel-Hamas war on Thursday.
The incident occurred after the House held its last votes for the week. The protester aggressively pressed Burchett, who has been a vocal supporter of Israel, on his stance regarding the war between the Jewish state and the Palestinian foreign terrorist organization.
When the protester bumped Burchett, the Tennessee congressman responded with a shove.
“Everyone has a right to their opinion, and they can say all of the filthy stuff they want,” Will Garrett, a spokesman for Burchett, told the Washington Examiner. “But they don’t have the right to bump the congressman.”

After the altercation, Burchett said the man “had bad breath,” according to Politico. The outlet reported that Capitol Police officers questioned the protester.
“For safety reasons, we cannot discuss any potential investigations,” the United States Capitol Police told the Washington Examiner.
