1 dead in crash involving out-of-service RTD bus on I-70

A driver died after rear ending an out-of-service Regional Transportation District (RTD) bus along Interstate 70 in Denver on Monday morning.

The crash took place around 6:25 a.m., and closed all westbound lanes on I-70 near Holly Street, according to RTD and the Denver Police Department.

Police said the crash involved a motorist and an RTD bus, with no passengers on it. The driver died at the scene, according to authorities.

The bus, designated to Route 15L, was out-of-service at the time of the crash, according to an RTD spokesperson.

It remains unclear what exactly led to the crash.

Westbound lanes remain closed for further investigation on Monday morning.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
