Climber dies after fall in Idaho Springs

A person has died after having a climbing accident in Idaho Springs on Saturday.

According to the Idaho Springs Police Department, emergency responders from the police department, Clear Creek Fire Authority, Clear Creek EMS, and Alpine Rescue Team responded to the 400 block of Highway 103 for a climbing accident at around 3:05 p.m.

Police said that a Flight For Life helicopter was immediately dispatched.

However, responders confirmed that the individual had fallen and sustained fatal injuries. The incident is under investigation.

The Clear Creek Advocates responded to help climbers who had witnessed the fall.
