Movie rundown for the weekend through Sept. 28: ‘One Battle After Another’ opens
OPENING
“Dead of Winter” — (Action, R, 97 minutes). While traveling alone through snowbound northern Minnesota, a woman comes across a kidnapping in the process and realizes she is the girl’s only hope, as they are hours away from the nearest town and have no cellphone service.
“Dude Perfect: The Hero Tour” — (Comedy, not rated, 100 minutes). Experience the sold-out tour of the immersive show with classic segments and backstage access.
“Eleanor the Great” — (Drama, PG-13, 98 minutes). Eleanor Morgenstein, 94 years old, tells the stories of living alone after a devastating loss.
“Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie” — (Comedy, G, 98 minutes). While on a road trip with her grandma, Gabby’s prized dollhouse ends up in the hands of an eccentric cat lady, so the two go on an adventure to get the Gabby Cats back together and find the dollhouse before it’s too late.

“The Girl Who Leapt Through Time 4K” — (Animated, not rated, 98 minutes). Makoto gets the power to travel back in time after almost getting hit by a train and uses her new powers to redo a lot of her past until she realizes the consequences of tampering with time may lead to a dire future that can’t be reversed.
“The Lost Bus” — (Drama, R, 129 minutes). A school teacher and a school bus driver try to save a busload of children from a terrifying inferno.
“One Battle After Another” — (Action, R, 161 minutes). A group of ex-revolutionaries reunite after one of their daughters goes missing when their enemy resurfaces after 16 years.

“The Strangers: Chapter 2” — (Horror, R, 96 minutes). When a couple’s vehicle breaks down on their final day of a cross-country road trip, they are forced to spend the night in a remote Airbnb, where they are terrorized by three masked strangers.
“They Call Him OG” — (Action, not rated, 155 minutes). A decade after he vanishes from Mumbai’s underworld, mob boss Ojas Gambheera shows up again seeking vengeance against rival crime lords.
ONGOING
“A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” — (Drama, R, 108 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. After meeting at a mutual friend’s wedding, Sarah and David find themselves on a journey where they are able to relive their pasts and get a chance to alter their futures.
“Afterburn” — (Action, R, 105 minutes). A treasure hunter hired to go to Europe to find the Mona Lisa after a solar flare destroyed Earth’s Eastern Hemisphere discovers the world needs a hero more than it needs the painting.
“The Bad Guys 2” — (Action, PG, 104 minutes). Grade: B, Mark Meszoros. Although the Bad Guys are now trying to live their lives as good guys, they are pulled out of retirement by an all-female squad named the Bad Girls to do one last job.
“The Baltimorons” — (Comedy, R, 99 minutes). A dental emergency on Christmas Eve leads a newly sober man to a romance with his older dentist.
“Caught Stealing” — (Drama, R, 107 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. Hank Thompson, a burned-out ex-baseball player, must navigate a treacherous underground as he fights for survival amid the criminal underbelly of New York City in the 1990s.
“The Conjuring: Last Rites” — (Horror, R, 135 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren confront mysterious entities during a terrifying case.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” — (Animated, R, 155 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. Tanjiro, Nezuko and the Hashira encounter Upper Rank demons while fighting against Muzan Kibutsuji.
“Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” — (Drama, PG, 123 minutes). The Crawley family must learn to accept change, with the next generation taking Downton Abbey into the future.
“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” — (Action, G-13, 115 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. The Fantastic Four must defend Earth while facing their most daunting challenge yet.
“Freakier Friday” — (Comedy, PG, 111 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. Twenty-two years after they went through an identity crisis, Tess and Anna discover that lightning can strike twice, as Anna now faces the challenges of merging two families with her daughter and a stepdaughter.
“Hamilton” — (Musical, PG-13, 160 minutes). See the filmed version of the Tony, Grammy, Emmy and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway hit, captured live from the Richard Rodgers Theater with the original Broadway cast.
“Him” — (Horror, R, 96 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. A young athlete finds himself in a world of terror while training with a legendary champion whose charisma turns dark.
“The History of Sound” — (Drama, R, 127 minutes). During World War 1, two young men document the lives, voices and music of American countrymen.
“In Whose Name?” — (Documentary, R, 106 minutes). While being immersed in Kanye West’s (Ye’s) life for six years, Nico Ballesteros documented what shaped Ye’s world, from the brilliance, breakdowns to the turmoil and more.
“Jolly LLB 3” — (Comedy, not rated, 157 minutes). Courtroom comedy ensues when Jolly Mishra and Jugadu Jolly Tyagi clash with Judge Tripathi.
“London Calling” — (Action, R, 104 minutes). A hitman down on his luck must babysit the son of his crime boss while showing him how to become a man.
“The Long Walk” — (Horror, R, 108 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. A group of teenage boys must maintain a specific walking speed in a contest known as The Long Walk or be shot.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” 50th Anniversary — (Horror, R, 100 minutes). Caught in a rainstorm, a couple takes refuge in a castle owned by a transvestite mad scientist from outer space who is about to unveil his greatest creation.
“The Senior” — (Drama, PG, 99 minutes). Almost four decades after being kicked off the college football team for fighting in his senior year, Mike Flynt returns to his alma mater for one last game — not for glory, but for the ending he still believes is possible.
“Spinal Tap II: The End Continues” — (Comedy, R, 83 minutes). After a 15-year break, members of the heavy metal band Spinal Tap reunite for one last concert.
“Toy Story” 30th Anniversary — (Animated, G, 81 minutes). Woody, a cowboy doll belonging to a young boy named Andy, gets jealous when a spaceman action figure becomes Andy’s new favorite toy. However, when both toys are separated from Andy during a family move, they have to put aside their differences and work together to get back to
“Twinless” — (Comedy, R, 100 minutes). Grade: A-, Dominic Baez. Two grieving men form an unlikely friendship when they meet in a support group.
“Weapons” — (Horror, R, 128 minutes). Grade: A, Katie Walsh. A community is left wondering who or what caused all-but-one child from the same class to go missing on the same night at the same time.
