Device that closed Brush school campuses was not explosive, district says
BRUSH, Colo. — A device that prompted the closure of all schools in the Brush School District on Monday was found to be non-explosive, according to the district.
The suspicious device was found Sunday evening on the Brush Secondary Campus, according to a message from the Brush School District.
Local law enforcement was called, and the Brush Police Department and Brush Fire Department responded to the campus to conduct a thorough search, according to the district. Thompson Primary and Beaver Valley Elementary were also searched as a precaution, the district said.
The Greeley Bomb Squad responded to the campus Monday morning to assess and remove the device. In an update, the district said the device was not explosive or a decoy and all sites have been cleared and secured.
