Hidden ‘$1 billion’ bunker under Colorado mountain toured by MrBeast in viral video

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a massive military bunker tucked beneath 9,565-foot Cheyenne Mountain outside of Colorado Springs that’s said to be capable of withstanding a nuclear blast.

While the closest that most people can get to the underground Cheyenne Mountain Complex is via a hike to the summit of its namesake peak, Internet personality MrBeast – real name Jimmy Donaldson – got a tour of the facility for a recent YouTube project that highlighted various bunker sites found around the country.

Cheyenne Mountain Complex is the final bunker highlighted in the 17-minute clip, with the bunkers that are included ordered from most basic to most extravagant. It’s no surprise Cheyenne Mountain Complex took the cake as the best place to withstand a nuclear attack.

While MrBeast calls Cheyenne Mountain Complex a ‘$1 billion bunker,’ it’s difficult to put a price tag on it. Technically, the initial construction cost is generally said to be $142.4 million in 1967 – close to $1.4 billion in today’s dollars. That said, there’s an unknown value connected to all of the technology and other assets inside of Cheyenne Mountain Complex that would probably push that number much higher.

The video has since been viewed more than 109 million times, with Cheyenne Mountain Complex discussed during the last five minutes. Given the highly-restrictive access to Cheyenne Mountain Complex, the look inside that MrBeast provides is sure to be interesting to many Coloradans.
