CU Boulder to add security, plainclothes officers to games to monitor fans after issue at BYU game
BOULDER, Colo. — Monday, CU Boulder announced they’re making changes. The university said it will be stepping up the number of people working security, even putting plainclothes officers in the stands. The school said they’ll also be adding more technology to make it easier to monitor fan behavior during games.
CU Athletics said fans found misbehaving could be tossed from the game and possibly not allowed back for the rest of the season.
In a statement to 9NEWS, CU Athletics said, “After working closely with our campus partners with the Division of Student Life and the Division of Public Safety, we have collaboratively developed these new procedures which allow us to be more proactive when it comes to addressing fan behavior during home football games. These new procedures also illustrate how seriously we are taking the issue of fan behavior and how committed we are to ensuring that every visitor to our campus feels welcome, safe, and respected.”
