Where good news shines

Harry Hollines is going into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.

An All-American basketball player for the Denver Pioneers in 1967 and 1968, Hollines was selected on Wednesday for the Class of 2026, the school said.

A Denver native and star Manual High, Hollines holds DU program records for scoring average (25.1 points per game) and career points scored (1,879). Hollines played three seasons for the Pioneers and later for the Phoenix Suns.

Hollines was named to the University of Denver’s All-20th Century team. He will be inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame on April 16, 2026.

The other inductees are Broncos all-time interceptions leader Steve Foley; Nuggets guard Lafayette “Fat” Lever; former Colorado quarterback Kordell Stewart; tennis icon Beatriz “Gigi” Fernandez; and track athlete Wendy Koenig.

Denver and first-year coach Tim Bergstraser open their season Nov. 3 at Seattle. The Pioneers open their home schedule against UTSA on Nov. 4.
