Denver bars bracing for early Broncos kickoff

With the Denver Broncos game versus the New York Jets in London kicking off at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, many metro Denver area bars are opening early and luring fans to watch parties with mimosas and breakfast burritos.
“We don’t know if we’re going to get four or 400,” said Nicole Bokelman from ‘Bout Time Pub and Grub in Sheridan.
To sweeten the deal, fans will get a shot at a Bo Nix throwback jersey with raffle tickets earned with food and drink purchases until halftime.

“We know the die hards are going to watch, there’s a market for it for sure,” Bokelman said.
Denver Department of Excise and Licenses Eric Escudero said businesses with on-premises liquor licenses can generally operate from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. (as Snooze fans would know well), “unless a local jurisdiction has a local ordinance that governs alternative operating hours.”
But people planning home watch parties better plan ahead. Colorado law forbids the sale of alcohol before 8 a.m. from grocery and liquor stores .
Staple watch-partly location bars like Tom’s Watch Bar, the British Bulldog (which always opens at 6 a.m. Sunday anyway), Stoney’s Bar and Grill and the ViewHouse are looking forward to helping fans with a little hair of the dog.
“We’re going to have a watch party like we do every weekend,” said Dan Stillman, an operating partner with Tom’s Watch Bar in McGregor Square.
“While we have a limited breakfast menu with cornbread pancakes and breakfast tacos, but Coors Light will be here, the Michelada Cart, a DJ and Denver Foos,” he said. “We don’t know what it will look like at 7 a.m., but we should get a good crowd.”
Denver Foos is popular podcast and social media influencer for Denver sports.
“The last time Denver played in London, they weren’t that good. This season it’s different — we should get a good crowd on the heels of the Eagles win,” Stillman said.
While Stoneys is a well-known watch bar for Cleveland Browns fans, they’re all Broncos all the time during games.
“We’ll have an all-you-can eat breakfast going on,” said Magdalena Demetriades, front of house manager. “Since they won the last game, we’re expecting a good turnout.”
The 7 a.m. opening time and breakfast special goes for all three Stoneys locations.
‘Bout Time’s Bokelman said they always open for brunch on weekends at 10 a.m., which includes bottomless mimosa or bloody mary bar and the most popular breakfast item, the breakfast burritos, until 2 p.m. But Sunday, they’re running it for the full seven hours from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“It’s a great deal – we always try to cater to the blue collar working crowd,” she said.
