CSP seeks help to find black Volvo involved in hit-and-run on U.S. 285 near Jefferson

Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is asking the public for help finding a car that fled the scene of a hit-and-run incident resulting in serious injuries on southbound U.S. Highway 285 near Jefferson, Colorado on Sunday night.

The car, which authorities believe to be a 2011-2014 black Volvo S60 with temporary license plate tags and possible damage to the passenger side mirror, hit a woman trying to flag down help after her 2002 Toyota Tacoma had crashed and rolled over just south of Jefferson, according to a Tuesday news release from CSP.

The 40-year-old woman from Denver was hit by the Volvo around 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

According to CSP, the woman was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries from the crash.

CSP said anyone who may have witnessed the crash, has seen a black Volvo S60 with recent side mirror damage or information about the car’s location is asked to call CSP Dispatch at 303-239-4501. The case reference number is 2A251458.
