The newest exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is an intimate look at one of the most beloved animals ever, The Secret World of Elephants, opening Friday. This is an opportunity for Coloradans to experience during its first stop on a national tour before it returns to New York’s American Museum of Natural History. Interactive stations offer the sounds of the mammals as you listen to their conversations. Follow the elephants through their history, where and how they live and why they’re endangered. Little trick-or-treaters will be arriving at the Colorado State Patrol Academy grounds in Golden, 15055 S. Golden Road, 6-8:30 p.m. Friday. It’s the first Blue Haunting – Trunk or Treat by Colorado State Patrol and Colorado Department of Public Safety. There’s a pumpkin picking right downtown at the Central Platte Valley Metropolitan District’s 4th annual Urban Pumpkin Patch, 10 a.m.-noon Sunday.
