Denver Central Library adds Fridays to schedule, will be open 7 days a week

The Denver Public Library is extending its open hours at its Central Library location at Broadway and 14th Avenue, and will now be open seven days a week.

The addition of Fridays to the library’s schedule starts Nov. 7, nearly a year after the location reopened from a multi-year renovation, according to a news release from the Denver Public Library. The library will expand its curbside service window hours on the same day as well.

“Over the last year, thousands of customers have explored the new and improved Central Library, and we can’t wait to welcome even more members of our community through our doors as we provide more library access,” said Nicolle Davies, city librarian and executive director, in the release. “We’re also excited that curbside pick up will add hours for those who prefer to grab their holds and go.”

The new Central Library hours will be:

  • Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The new curbside window service hours will also change to:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Library officials said they are still working on a planned cafe in the location, but with budget cuts and other delays, they have had to move back the timeline for that project.
