1 dead in downtown Denver hit-and-run crash, police say

Denver police arrested a suspect after a hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian downtown early Sunday morning.

The Denver Police Department reported the crash at 2:27 a.m. on social media platform X. Police said the crash occurred at Market and 16th streets.

The crash involved a motorist and a pedestrian, according to police.

Police said the pedestrian didn’t survive the crash, adding the suspect didn’t stay on-scene.

At around 10 a.m., Denver police announced the arrest of Milton McBride, 27. Authorities apprehended McBride in the 1700 block of Wazee St., according to police.

Police said McBride is being held and investigated for vehicular homicide.

The crash remains under Denver Police Department investigation.
