Broncos begin community benefits agreement process for proposed new Denver stadium
DENVER — The Denver Broncos have committed to a community benefits agreement process, a step meant to ensure neighbors have a voice in plans for a proposed new stadium at the Burnham Yard site.
Denver City Councilmember Jamie Torres, who represents the area, said the agreement is an early but significant milestone, one that will shape how the team and surrounding neighborhoods work together as redevelopment begins to take form.
The Broncos proactively reached out to city leaders and neighborhood representatives to begin the agreement process, Torres said, framing it as an opportunity for collaboration.
The community benefits agreement could include requirements for affordable housing, commitments to hire local residents, and guarantees to help existing small businesses stay in the area.
