Motorcyclist dies in Nederland crash, Boulder county authorities say
A crash between a car and motorcycle left one person dead in Nederland on Saturday afternoon, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
In a news release, Boulder county authorities said the crash occurred around 3:47 p.m. near E. Highway 119 and East Street in Nederland.
The crash, between a four-door sedan and a motorcycle, resulted in the death of the motorcyclist, according to the sheriff’s office.
E. Highway 119 shut down between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Responding to the scene was first responders from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Nederland Fire Protection District, Colorado State Patrol, Boulder County Emergency Squad and Boulder County Coroner’s Office responded.
“The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office urges all motorists to drive with care and due regard while operating vehicles in Boulder County,” officials said in the news release.
In Colorado, motorcycle fatalities jumped 60% between 2018 and 2024, when the state experienced its deadliest year for motorcycle accidents. Last year, 165 motorcyclists died on Colorado roads, according to a Common Sense Institute report outlined by The Denver Gazette.
Boulder sheriff’s office officials said the Nederland crash remains under investigation
