Colorado State Patrol looking for hit-and-run suspect in Arvada
The Colorado State Patrol is asking the public for help in finding a suspect in a hit-and-run involving a stolen vehicle in Arvada Friday morning.
CSP troopers responded to a crash on eastbound Interstate 76 near the southbound Sheridan Street exit around 11:30 a.m., according to a news release from the department.
Preliminary investigations found that a green Subaru SUV — which had been reported stolen Friday morning in Westminster — was driving on the Sheridan exit and went onto the curb, entered the southbound lane and collided with the driver’s side of a silver Honda Fit, according to the release.
The driver of the Honda Fit, a 37-year-old male, and the passenger, a 47-year-old female, were transported to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The driver of the Subaru was seen running away from the scene. Police described him as a male wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. He was last seen heading toward Inspiration Trailer Park.
The Arvada Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office attempted to find the suspect, but they did not.
CSP shared a surveillance photo from a gas station on the corner of 88th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard in Westminster where the SUV was reported stolen.
Anyone with information is asked to contact CSP Dispatch at (303) 239-4501 and reference case number IS250927.
