Denver weather: After record high, a swing back to seasonal Monday

After a record-breaking high temperature of 83 degrees on Sunday in Denver, cooler conditions start the work week.

At 1:41 p.m., Sunday the temperature reached 83 degrees at Denver International Airport, creating a new, monthly high for November.

Denverites can expect increasing clouds throughout the day, with a high near 61, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South southeast winds around 6 mph become light and variable in the afternoon.

Tonight it’ll be mostly clear, with a low around 41 and south winds between 5 to 7 mph.

A return to above-average temperatures on Tuesday keeps city dwellers warm, with a slight dip on Wednesday, but still a pleasant mid-fall day.

Slight cooling each day for the rest of the week is forecast as well, but little to no chances of precipitation is forecast.

Here’s the 4-day forecast from the National Weather Service.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 71. South southeast wind around 6 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
