Nearly 1 in 3 Rockies fans say they’d steal a foul ball from a kid, reveals poll
It’s no secret the Colorado Rockies were downright awful this season, finishing with a 43 and 119 record (.265). While that’s a bit embarrassing in itself, what’s perhaps even more embarrassing is that 29 percent of polled Rockies fans said they would “snatch a foul ball from a kid” if given the chance.
According to a publication called The Grueling Truth, Colorado Rockies fans rank 3rd-highest in the league on their ‘Karen’ index (sorry Karen, that’s actually what they called it – I hate the term, too). After 2,000 U.S. baseball fans were polled throughout the month of October 2025, those claiming to be fans of the Rockies said they’d try to snag a foul ball from a kid who’s reaching for it at a rate of 29% – close to one in three and above the national average of one in five. Oddly enough, that means there’s a better chance that a Rockies fan will say they’re willing to snatch a foul ball from a kid than the Rockies winning a game, at least when based on last season’s performance.
Fans of the Athletics topped the list with 36% of fans wanting to snatch that ball followed by World Series runner-ups Toronto Blue Jays at 31%. Rockies fans tied at 29% with fans of the Chicago Cubs. On the other end of the spectrum, just 10% of Pittsburgh Pirates fans said they’d try to get the ball.
It’s also worth noting that on a national scale, 3% of fans said they’d try even harder to get the foul ball if the kid was cheering for the other team.
Maybe Rockies fans were just mad about how last season turned out, but either way, just let the kid have the ball.
