Broncos RB J.K. Dobbins again doesn’t practice due to foot injury
ENGLEWOOD — Broncos star running back J.K. Dobbins again didn’t practice Thursday due to a left foot injury.
Dobbins is not expected to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Empower Field at Mile High. The Denver Gazette reported Tuesday the Broncos are considering putting him on injured reserve. Coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that no decision had been made regarding that on Dobbins, who has not practiced since being hurt Nov. 6 against Las Vegas.
Also not practicing again were star cornerback Pat Surtain II, expected to miss his third straight game with a strained left pectoral muscle; linebacker Alex Singleton, who already has been ruled out for Sunday after undergoing testicular cancer surgery last Friday; and outside linebacker Jonah Elliss, who has a hamstring injury and is in jeopardy of sitting out against the Chiefs.
Tight end Nate Adkins, who has missed the past two games with a knee injury, did stretching with the team and then went to a side field. He was listed a non-participant in practice.
Defensive end John Franklin-Myers was limited due to a back injury.
Wide receiver Trent Sherfield was back at practice after sitting out Wednesday due to a toe injury.
Wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey, plucked Wednesday off the New York Giants’ practice squad, took part in Thursday’s workout at Broncos Park. He has returned to Denver after playing for the Broncos for the previous two seasons.
Wide receiver Michael Bandy was back at practice on the practice squad after not being able to participate Wednesday. He was waived Tuesday off the 53-man roster and couldn’t take part Wednesday because he didn’t clear waivers until 2 p.m., when he re-signed with Denver’s practice squad.
