Movie rundown for the weekend through Nov. 16: ‘The Running Man’ opens

“The Carpenter’s Son” — (Horror, R, 94 minutes). A family hiding in Roman Egypt faces natural and divine horrors when the son doubts the guardian, known as the Carpenter.

“Hamnet” — (Drama, PG-13, 125 minutes). The story of love and loss that inspired Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.”

“J-hope Tour: Hope on the Stage – The Movie” — (Music, not rated, 90 minutes). A J-Hope performance featuring collaborations with Jin, Jung Kook, and Crush, with behind-the-scenes footage.

“Keeper” — (Horror, R, 99 minutes). When a dark presence reveals itself, a romantic anniversary trip to a secluded cabin turns sinister and forces the couple to confront the property’s haunting past.

“King Ivory” — (Crime, R, 130 minutes). After his son gets hooked on fentanyl, Tulsa drug cop Layne West makes it his mission to take down those responsible.

“Meet, Greet & Bye” — (Drama, not rated, 107 minutes). When their mother’s cancer returns, the Facundo family’s lives are upended.

“Muzzle: City of Wolves” — (Drama, R, 99 minutes). After an ex-K-9 officer’s family is attacked, he and his new K-9 partner uncover a drug ring and confront corrupt officials while tracking down the criminals.

“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” — (Thriller, PG-13, 112 minutes). Retired Horsemen illusionists join new performers to catch dangerous criminals during a diamond heist.

“The Running Man” — (Action, R, 133 minutes). Ben Richards joins a game show where the contestants, called Runners, try to survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins for a large cash prize.

“Two Sleepy People” — (Drama, not rated, 93 minutes). Two office colleagues who are married go back to being strangers when the morning comes.

“Train Dreams” — (Drama, PG-13, 102 minutes). Story about an American logger and railroad worker who lives a life of beauty and depth in the early 20th century.

“Trap House” — (Action, R, 82 minutes). An undercover DEA agent and his partner try to catch a group of thieves who are also their own teenagers.

“Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl” — (Anime, not rated, 35 minutes). A young woman, who is wrestling with personal conflicts, becomes a bounty hunter.

“All Is Merry & Bright” — (Drama, not rated, 106 minutes). After a car crash in her teens shattered her dreams, a supermom with a cane who orchestrates Christmas shows discovers the true spirit of the season when she is forced to confront change.

“Back to the Future” 40th Anniversary — (Adventure, PG, 116 minutes). High school student Marty McFly and his friend scientist Doc Brown travel 30 years back in time.

“Black Phone 2” — (Horror, R, 114 minutes). Grade: C-, Katie Walsh. While Finn is still struggling with life four years after he was abducted and escaped, his sister starts receiving calls from the black phone in her dreams.

”The Boy and the Heron” – Studio Ghibli Fest 2025 — (Animation, PG-13, 124 minutes). Grade: A, Katie Walsh. In this semi-autobiographical fantasy from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki, a young boy ventures into a world of the living and the dead.

“Brothers on Three” — (Documentary, not rated). Offers insight into rugby and military academy life after the West Point rugby team wins the 2023 National Championship.

“Bugonia” — (Comedy/Sci-Fi, R, 118 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. A high-powered CEO of a major company is kidnapped by two conspiracy-obsessed men who believe she is an alien trying to destroy Earth.

“Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” — (Anime, R, 100 minutes). Denji faces a deadly battle after Reze comes into his life.

“The Christmas Ring” — (Romance, not rated, 103 minutes). While searching for her lost family heirloom, a military widow falls in love.

“Christy” — (Drama, R, 135 minutes). Based on the true story of the most successful female boxer of the ’90s, Christy Martin, and her struggles outside the ring with family, her identity and a life-or-death relationship.

“Die My Love” — (Drama, R, 118 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. Grace, a young mother and writer, is becoming more agitated and erratic as she slips into madness, leaving her companion, Jackson, feeling helpless.

“Frankenstein” — (Horror, R, 149 minutes). In a monstrous experiment, a brilliant, egotistical scientist brings a creature to life, unaware that this will lead to his and his creation’s undoing.

“The Girlfriend” — (Drama, not rated, 130 minutes). Follows a young woman’s journey of love, compatibility and self-discovery.

“Good Fortune” — (Action, R, 98 minutes). A well-meaning but incompetent angel named Gabriel interferes in the lives of a rich venture capitalist and a struggling gig worker.

“Grand Prix of Europe” — (Animation, PG, 98 minutes). To prove that even the smallest racer can make a big impact, Edda, disguised as her hero Ed, races in the Grand Prix.

“It Was Just an Accident” — (Adventure, PG-13, 105 minutes). A chain reaction of ever-growing problems starts after a small mishap.

“Little Amélie or the Character of Rain” — (Animated, PG, 77 minutes). Amélie, a Belgian child living in Japan, starts understanding the world after life-altering events on her third birthday.

“Lost & Found in Cleveland” — (Comedy, PG-13, 123 minutes). Five people’s paths cross amidst the post-industrial American dream when they attend an antiques appraisal TV show.

“Nuremberg” — (Drama, PG-13, 148 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. As a WWII psychiatrist forms a disturbing bond with Hermann Göring, he begins to become obsessed with understanding evil.

“One Battle After Another” — (Action, R, 161 minutes). Grade: A, Katie Walsh. A group of ex-revolutionaries reunite after one of their daughters goes missing when their enemy resurfaces after 16 years.

“Predator: Badlands” — (Sci-Fi, PG-13, 107 minutes). Grade: B, Mark Meszoros. While on his journey to find the ultimate adversary, a young Predator outcast finds an unlikely ally.

“Regretting You” — (Drama, PG-13, 117 minutes). After Morgan’s husband’s death, she and her teenage daughter must try to navigate life’s challenges together even though their relationship is strained.

“Roofman” — (Drama, R, 126 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. After escaping, Jeffrey Manchester, who was in jail for robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us while trying to figure out his next move. However, his double life gets harder when he falls for a divorced mom named Leigh.

“Sarah’s Oil” — (Biography, PG, 103 minutes). The story of Sarah Rector, an 11-year-old African American girl born in the early 1900s, who believed there was oil beneath the barren land in the Oklahoma Indian Territory.

“Shelby Oaks” — (Horror, R, 99 minutes). While searching for her long-lost sister, she realizes that the imaginary demon from their childhood may be real.

“Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” — (Biography, PG-13, 120 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. Chronicles Bruce Springsteen’s making of his 1982 “Nebraska” album.

“Stitch Head” — (Animation, PG, 89 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. Stitch Head is a small creature who was awoken by a mad professor to protect the professor’s other creations from the townspeople of Grubbers Nubbin.

“Tron: Ares” — (Action, PG-13, 119 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. Ares, a very sophisticated AI being from the digital world, is sent to the real world to complete a dangerous mission.

“Unexpected Christmas” — (Comedy, not rated, 104 minutes). Old rivalries, secrets and romantic mix-up ruin a family’s perfect Christmas reunion.

“Wicked” Re-release — (Fairy Tale, PG, 160 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. Elphaba’s and Glinda’s friendship reaches a crossroads after an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
