Denver weather: Warm stretch continues Friday with potential snow middle next week
Three occurrences of Denver’s latest first snow on Nov. 14 (1944, 1964, 2008) have occurred in the city’s history, and today’s date joins those ranks as the fourth member, tied in tenth place, for latest first snow on record. Saturday’s date will put the city into a tie for sixth latest and Sunday’s date into a tie for fifth latest.
Furthermore, near record-high temperatures (79 degrees set in 1990) are forecast across the metro area today as well.
Denverites can expect mostly sunny skies today, with a high near 75, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South winds between 6 to 8 mph become northeast in the afternoon.
Tonight it’ll be mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. South southwest winds between 3 to 6 mph are forecast.
Continued warm an dry conditions persists both weekend days, but slightly cooler as an approaching mountain-snow storm begins to shape up Sunday.
The first chance for snow is on Wednesday, Nov. 19 night according to the NWS, which would place that date tied for third latest first snow in city history. In order for the record to count it has to snow 0.1 inches at the city’s official weather station at Denver International Airport.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 71. South southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.
Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.
Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 55.
