Nuggets’ Christian Braun to miss extended stretch
The Nuggets’ starting lineup is going to look a little different for the foreseeable future.
Starting shooting guard Christian Braun will be reevaluated in six weeks after spraining his ankle in the first half of Wednesday’s win over the Clippers. That means Braun will be out through Denver’s Christmas game before a potential return.
The injury happened in the final seconds of the first quarter when Braun and Clippers guard James Harden had their legs tangled. Braun briefly returned to the game before being held out of the second half. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Peyton Watson started the second half alongside Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Jokic with Cam Johnson also sidelined with an arm injury.
Johnson will also miss Saturday’s game in Minnesota with a right bicep strain, while Nikola Jokic is questionable with a left wrist sprain.
Braun started the Nuggets’ first 11 games of the season and averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3 assists in nearly 30 minutes per game. He signed a five-year extension worth $125 million just before the season started.
