Denver weather: Slight warm up Tuesday but snow chances late week dwindle

The forecast calls for conditions to be slightly warmer on Tuesday around Denver and the urban corridor ahead of a cool down Thursday and Friday; potentially the season’s first snow too.

Denverites can expect mostly sunny skies today, with a high near 61, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Southeast winds will blow between 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Tonight it’ll be partly cloudy, with a low around 37. South southwest winds to blow between 5 to 7 mph.

Wednesday warms a bit more to be the hottest day of the week.

A change in weather pattern begins Thursday as a upsloping system pushes moisture into the Front Range, capable of producing rain and even snow showers Thursday and Friday.

In order for the city’s first snow to count 0.1 inches needs to fall and be recorded at Denver International Airport. It has not snowed since Denver since April 19, which was 213 days ago.

Early Tuesday morning weather models from the ECMWF and GFS have no snow falling at the airport or across metro Denver for that matter until Saturday, Nov. 29, or Sunday, Nov. 30 meaning the city’s latest first snow could be pushed out yet again.

If Saturday, Nov. 29 or Sunday, Nov. 30 were to become the first date snow is recorded at DIA this season, it would be in second place for latest first snow in Denver weather history.

An ECMWF Total Snowfall 10:1 (in) forecast map of Colorado from 5 p.m., Monday, Nov. 17 to 11 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025. Denver might not receive its first snow of winter 2025-26 until the end of November or even later if this forecast were to hold. (Pivotalweather.com).

Any date after snow is recorded after Nov. 21 will actually become second, and the long range forecast is showing not much action from between this year’s Nov. 21 to Saturday, Nov. 29 or Sunday, Nov. 30.

Here’s the 4-day forecast from the National Weather Service.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday: A 40% chance of showers, mainly after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. West wind around 6 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.

Friday: A 50% chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 55.
