A bizarre chain of events unfolded in Summit County in recent days, starting with the report of an intoxicated male striking vehicles with a snowboard and threatening to assault people in unincorporated Silverthorne, per a report from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report on the matter, a woman who was in the process of going to work reported that after leaving her apartment and entering her parked vehicle, a man jumped over a guardrail and began to strike the passenger side of her vehicle with a snowboard. In fear of her safety, the woman fled her vehicle.

The suspect in the case reportedly noticed the woman leaving and attempted to attack her, though she was able to escape back into her apartment to her roommates.

The man was then reportedly witnessed vandalizing several other vehicles before her roommates decided to restrain him. The roommates were successful, able to pin the man to the ground until deputies arrived.

When deputies arrived, the man was discovered to be “extremely intoxicated,” also in possession of alcohol and marijuana. According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the man was arrested on various charges including assault, menacing, and felony criminal mischief.

All suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Any charge that’s mentioned is merely an accusation.
