Colorado airport ranks among best airports for Thanksgiving travel
With the holidays approaching, people are making travel plans. With that in mind, the blog Lance Surety Bonds created a ranking of the most and least reliable airlines and airports, and one Colorado airport made the list of the best.
To create the rankings, Lance Surety Bonds analyzed data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics on Thanksgiving flight delays from 2016 to the present. They focused on major U.S. airlines and airports to determine which ones were the most and least affected by delays during the Thanksgiving period of travel.
Denver International Airport (DIA) ranked seventh among the top 20 best airports on the list, coming in with a 15% of delayed departure flights from 2016 to 2024.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International took the top spot as the best airport, affected by a 11.9% of delated departure flights. Orlando Sanford International ranked last with a percent of 29.3%.
