Stretch run of NFL season begins on Thanksgiving | The Starting Lineup
Turn on the game!
Three must-see events this week:
- Thanksgiving NFL tripleheader – Three good games with playoff implications on Thursday: Packers-Lions (11 a.m. Fox), Chiefs-Cowboys (2:30 p.m. CBS) and the Bengals-Ravens nightcap (6:20 p.m. NBC).
- San Antonio Spurs at Denver (7:30 p.m. Friday, Altitude) – Denver is in the mix for the NBA Cup, so this game is an important one — even with the possibility of no Victor Wembanyama for the Spurs.
- Broncos at Washington Commanders (6:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, NBC) – Denver returns from the bye with a prime-time road game against the struggling Commanders. Can the Broncos defense shine in the spotlight?
Numbers game
3 – game-winning kicks this season for Broncos kicker Wil Lutz, who was rewarded with a three-year extension on Friday.
Box office
$20 – on Seat Geek to witness Friday’s rivalry football game between Colorado State and Air Force football at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. Even with both teams down this season, there is a chance for high drama.
On this day
Nov. 23, 2024 – Michael Malone becomes the winningest coach in Nuggets history with a 127-102 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Later in the season, the Nuggets fire Malone with three games left in the season.
Final word
Jamal Murray has looked like a different player to start the season. Murray, known for his slow starts, was key in the Nuggets’ win on Friday over the Rockets. While Denver has had some struggles in the clutch, you always bet on Murray and Nikola Jokic late in games.
