What side should you bring to Thanksgiving? Here’s what Coloradans love the most

Want to ensure your contribution to the Thanksgiving potluck is a hit? According to a report from The Pioneer Woman, Coloradans seem to be particularly interested in a certain popular side.

Each year, Google releases a state-by-state breakdown of the most popular sides around the country based on Google Trends, and this year, The Pioneer Woman reports that Coloradans seem to be most interested in green bean casserole – a Thanksgiving classic that consists of green beans in creamy mushroom sauce with a topping of French-fried onions. It’s hearty, it’s salty, it’s savory, and it’s undoubtedly delicious.

Has someone attending your Thanksgiving dinner already claimed green bean casserole as the dish they’ll be bringing? Fear not – Campbell’s also produces their own state-by-state breakdown of the country’s most popular Thanksgiving sides – and in their report, Coloradans are more interested in something else, also noting that no state around the country ended up favoring green bean casserole, with that side being the 5th-most popular nationwide behind stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese.

In the Campbell’s report, Coloradans reportedly prefer the ‘top dish’ nationwide – stuffing, also known as dressing.

Typically stuffed into the Thanksgiving turkey itself, this dish typically consists of bread, celery, onions, garlic, and other herbs, soaking up the juices of the bird while it cooks or with a little bit of broth tossed into the mix.

So there you have it – whether it’s green bean casserole or stuffing that you’re bringing along to the family table this year in Colorado, it’s likely to be a hit.
