Movie rundown for the weekend through Dec. 7: ‘Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution’ opens

“100 Nights of Hero” — (Romance, PG-13, 90 minutes). Cherry and her maid must fend off the seductive visitor who is staying at their remote castle.

“Akhanda 2 – Thaandavam” — (Action, not rated, 170 minutes). As Akhanda battles forces threatening peace, his twin brother confronts a new adversary.

“André Rieu’s 2025 Christmas Concert: Merry Christmas” — (Concert, not rated, 165 minutes). The ultimate Christmas cinema event with carols and waltzes.

“Fackham Hall” — (Comedy, R, 97 minutes). While the Davenport family deals with the disaster of their oldest daughter’s wedding to her cousin, a new porter forms a bond with their youngest daughter.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” — (Horror, PG-13, 104 minutes). Anyone can survive five nights, but this time, no one should expect a second chance.

“Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution” — (Anime, R, 90 minutes). During Halloween, a veil descends over the Shibuya area, trapping civilians inside and transforming colonies across Japan into dens of curses.

“Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” — (Action, not rated, 275 minutes). After a bride is left for dead and her unborn child stolen, she must hunt down the four members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad before she can confront Bill himself.

“Merrily We Roll Along” — (Musical, not rated, 150 minutes). A filmed version of the Broadway production, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez.

“The Metropolitan Opera: The Magic Flute Holiday Encore” — (Opera, not rated, 116 minutes). A broadcast of opera performed at The Metropolitan Opera.

“Monsta X: Connect X in Cinemas” — (Concert, not rated, 118 minutes). Follows the journey shared by Monsta X and Monbebe.

ONGOING

“A Christmas Story” — (Comedy, PG, 83 minutes). Movie is set in the 1940s about a boy named Ralphie who tries to convince his parents, teacher and Santa Claus to get him a Red Ryder Range 200 Shot BB gun for Christmas.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” — (Drama, not rated, 114 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. When six of the worst kids in the history of the world take over the town’s yearly Christmas performance, they may unwittingly teach the town the true meaning of Christmas.

“Black Phone 2” — (Horror, R, 114 minutes). Grade: C-, Katie Walsh. While Finn is still struggling with life four years after he was abducted and escaped, his sister starts receiving calls from the black phone in her dreams.

“Bugonia” — (Comedy/Sci-Fi, R, 118 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. A high-powered CEO of a major company is kidnapped by two conspiracy-obsessed men who believe she is an alien trying to destroy Earth.

“Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” — (Anime, R, 100 minutes). Denji faces a deadly battle after Reze comes into his life.

“The Doors: When You’re Strange” Remastered — (Documentary, R, 97 minutes). Follows the rock band The Doors, from their formation in 1965 to Jim Morrison’s death in 1971.

Dr. Seuss’ “The Grinch” (2018) — (Animated, PG, 90 minutes). Grinch, who lives a solitary life in a cave, decides to ruin Christmas for all who live in the village of Whoville.

“Elf” — (Comedy, PG, 97 minutes). Buddy is a human who was adopted by and raised by elves in the North Pole. After finding out he was adopted, Buddy goes to New York to find his real father who doesn’t know he exists.

“Eternity” — (Comedy, PG-13, 112 minutes). Grade: B, Adam Graham. In an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where to spend eternity, Joan has to choose between the man she spent her life with or her first love.

“Four Christmases” — (Comedy, PG-13, 88 minutes). When Kate and Brad’s exotic Christmas vacation is canceled because they are socked in by fog, they must figure out a way to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day.

“Hamnet” — (Drama, PG-13, 125 minutes). The story of love and loss that inspired Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.”

“Highest 2 Lowest” — (Crime, R, 133 minutes). A titan music mogul faces a life-or-death moral dilemma when he is targeted with a ransom plot.

“Jay Kelly” — (Comedy, R, 132 minutes). Jake Kelly, a famous movie actor, along with his manager Ron, embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

“Keeper” — (Horror, R, 99 minutes). When a dark presence reveals itself, a romantic anniversary trip to a secluded cabin turns sinister and forces the couple to confront the property’s haunting past.

National Lampoon’s “Christmas Vacation” — (Comedy, PG-13, 97 minutes). Join the Griswold family as their perfectly planned family Christmas turns into a disaster.

“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” — (Thriller, PG-13, 112 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. Retired Horsemen illusionists join new performers to catch dangerous criminals during a diamond heist.

“Nuremberg” — (Drama, PG-13, 148 minutes). Grade: B-, Katie Walsh. As a WWII psychiatrist forms a disturbing bond with Hermann Göring, he begins to become obsessed with understanding evil.

“One Battle After Another” — (Action, R, 161 minutes). Grade: A, Katie Walsh. A group of ex-revolutionaries reunite after one of their daughters goes missing when their enemy resurfaces after 16 years.

“The Polar Express” — (Animation, G, 100 minutes). A doubting young boy goes on a magical train ride to the North Pole and learns about bravery, friendship and the spirit of Christmas

“Predator: Badlands” — (Sci-Fi, PG-13, 107 minutes). Grade: B, Mark Meszoros. While on his journey to find the ultimate adversary, a young Predator outcast finds an unlikely ally.

“Rental Family” — (Comedy, PG-13, 103 minutes). Grade: A-, Katie Walsh. A struggling American actor living in Tokyo rediscovers purpose, belonging and the beauty of human connection when he takes a gig at a rental family agency and plays stand-in roles for strangers.

“The Running Man” — (Action, R, 133 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. Ben Richards joins a game show where the contestants, called Runners, try to survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins for a large cash prize.

“Sentimental Value” — (Drama, R, 133 minutes). An exploration of memories, family and the healing power of art.

“Sisu: Road to Revenge” — (Action, R, 88 minutes). A brutal pursuit takes place when a man returns to destroy the house where his family was murdered and the killer, a Red Army commander, tracks him down.

“Tere Ishk Mein” — (Action, not rated, 167 minutes). Shankar and Mukti’s relationship against the backdrop of Benaras explores surrender and transformation.

“Two Sleepy People” — (Drama, not rated, 93 minutes). Two office colleagues who are married go back to being strangers when the morning comes.

“Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” — (Comedy/Drama, PG-13, 140 minutes). In this sequel to “Glass Onion,” Benoit Blanc returns for his most dangerous case to date.

“Wedding Crashers” 20th Anniversary — (Comedy, R, 119 minutes). A pair of womanizers who crash weddings looking for romance find themselves at odds when one of them falls in love.

“Wicked: For Good” — (Fairy Tale, PG, 138 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. Elphaba and Glinda are driven further apart when Glinda attempts a conciliation between Elphaba and The Wizard of Oz.

“Zootopia 2” — (Animation, PG, 108 minutes). Grade: A-, Katie Walsh. Rabbit cop Judy Hopps and the fox Nick Wilde try to crack the most intricate and perilous case of their careers.
