Rescue teams save individual stuck in Indian Creek

Douglas County Search and Rescue responded when an individual became stuck in Indian Creek on Thursday night.

According to a Facebook post from DCSAR, they responded to a personal emergency beacon activation of an individual deep in Indian Creek who was ill and was not able to make it out themselves.

DCSAR was able to work with multiple agencies to use ATVs, snowmobiles, and vehicle teams to get to the individual and rescue them. DCSAR said that the rescue took many hours, complex rescue approaches, and major medical care.

The patient was life-flighted to higher medical care after rescue teams brought them out.

“We are grateful for all of our rescuers and those in the agencies we have the privilege of working with,” reads the post. “Helping save a life is one of the best presents you can have.”
