2. Nuggets at Sacramento Kings (8 p.m. Thursday, Altitude TV) — So is it more telling that Denver has lost four straight homes — or that it has won a franchise-record eight straight on the road? 

3. Green Bay Packers at Broncos (2:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, CBS) — Did you know Green Bay has never won in regulation in Denver? The Packers are 1-6 here, the only win coming in OT.

1 — Mountain West team in the top 50 of college basketball’s initial NET rankings — No. 41 Utah State — a nightmarish start that has the league trending toward one-bid status even before league play 

Box office

$45 — for a seat at the “Avalanche Alumni: Rewind Reunion” Wednesday night at the Paramount Theater, where Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Claude Lemieux, Mike Ricci and other players from the 1996 Stanley Cup champions will gather for a night of storytelling and memories (via Ticketmaster).

Dec. 7, 2012 — George Karl’s Nuggets beat the Indiana Pacers, 92-89, on their way to 57 wins, a then-franchise record that was tied by Michael Malone’s Nuggets during the 2023-24 season  

Final word

Colorado’s college football landscape somehow got worse when the season ended. What does it say when only one of the top 20 prospects in the Class of 2026, according to 247Sports, signed with an in-state program? While Thompson Valley’s Josiah Manu signed with the Buffs, most of the state’s best players are off to play for the likes of Oregon, Michigan, Texas and BYU.
