MSU Denver volleyball prepares for biggest match in program history in NCAA Elite Eight | Colorado Sunshine
Where good news shines
MSU Denver volleyball is the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Division II Championship, one step away from the Final Four.
The Roadrunners will face No. 5 Wingate University at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Sioux Falls, S.D. It’s the first appearance for MSU Denver in the Elite Eight.
The Roadrunners are riding high on a 20-match winning streak, while the Bulldogs have won 30 straight. Wingate has won eight regional titles, all since 2010, and is in the NCAA quarterfinals for the third time in four years.
Wingate hasn’t lost since a 3-1 setback to Lewis University on Sept. 5. MSU Denver hasn’t lost since a 3-0 defeat to Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 3.
The winner gets the winner between No. 1 Tampa and No. 8 Ferris State in a national semifinal Friday.
