Denver weather: Highs Thursday could be 20 degrees above average

Denver won’t near a record high temperature for today’s date on Thursday, however, it will be well above the seasonal average by nearly 20 degrees. The average high temperature for Dec. 11 is 46 degrees.

Denver residents can expect partly sunny skies today, with a high near 66, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It’ll be windy as well as south southwest winds are to blow between 10 to 13 mph become west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Tonight it’ll be partly cloudy, with a low around 34. A west southwest wind between 5 to 8 mph becomes south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.

Continued high temperatures in the low 60s are forecast over the next four days and even further into next week as a high pressure dome over the Four Corners region keeps storms tracking to the north of Colorado.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 61. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 17 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 62.
