Denver weather: Mostly sunny Tuesday ahead of dangerous winds Wednesday
Tuesday’s weather around Denver will be a mix of some sun some wind, but overall an unusually warm and unseasonable day across the city.
Denver residents can expect mostly sunny skies today, with a high near 67, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South southwest winds to blow between 7 to 9 mph become north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
Tonight it’ll be partly cloudy, with a low around 39. South wind 6 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 16 mph.
A red flag warning goes into effect at 11 a.m., Wednesday and goes to 6 p.m., for the I-25 corridor from Wyoming to New Mexico, east of the Front Range foothills, onto the eastern Plains in Weld, Adams and Arapahoe counties in northern Colorado and most of the southeastern counties in southern Colorado.
Winds will blow from the west between 20 to 40 mph, gusts between 60 to 80 mph with relative humidity levels between 15% to 25%.
A high wind watch goes into effect at 11 a.m., Wednesday as well, lasting to midnight for the northern and southern Front Range foothills, Fort Collins, Longmont, Boulder and western suburbs of Denver.
West winds to blow between 30 to 40 mph and gusts between 65 to 85 mph.
A dip in temperatures in forecast for Thursday as a cold front pushes into cooler air into the Front Range and metro Denver from the wind storm Wednesday.
But a bounce back to 60s starts Friday and warmer and drier conditions could prevail for several more days leading into and through Christmas week.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. North northwest wind around 8 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 69.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.
