Broncos vs. Jaguars | The Denver Gazette’s predictions

The Denver Gazette sports staff predicts Sunday’s game between the Broncos (12-2) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (10-4) at Empower Field at Mile High:

Paul Klee’s pick: Broncos 27, Jaguars 26

Full disclosure: Trevor Lawrence and the Jags’ red-hot offense present a bad matchup for the Broncos, who suddenly aren’t stopping teams like they used to. Jacksonville’s averaged 42 points over its last two games. Would it really surprise anyone if the Broncos and Jags collide again in the AFC postseason?

Overall record: 10-4

Chris Schmaedeke’s pick: Broncos 28, Jaguars 24

Denver wins another game like they have all season. A close, one-score game at home with Bo Nix making the needed plays while the defense comes up with a late stop to preserve the win. The Broncos ride this formula for their 12th straight win and inch closer to the No. 1 seed.

Overall record: 10-4

Chris Tomasson’s pick: Broncos 23, Jaguars 20

Broncos coach Sean Payton made a big deal last Sunday about the Packers becoming “gassed” in the high altitude late in their 34-26 loss at Denver. Well, Green Bay has an elevation of 581 feet while Jacksonville is at a meager 3 feet. Score another win for the Broncos.

Overall record: 11-3

Mark Kiszla’s pick: Broncos 51, Jaguars 10

Can’t fight the magic. I’m embracing it. Broncos are an NFL juggernaut like we haven’t seen since the Miami Dolphins went undefeated.

Overall record: 9-5

Kyle Fredrickson’s pick: Broncos 27, Jaguars 24

Get ready for a juicy slate of home playoff games at Empower Field. Denver will take another step toward clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a hard-fought win over Jacksonville. Expect a strong rushing day from rookie RJ Harvey to supplement another turnover-free performance from quarterback Bo Nix.

Overall record: 9-5

Versatile cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian a candidate for All-Pro honors but Broncos future uncertain | NFL Insider

Broncos stalwart Ja’Quan McMillian has a picture on his phone of the Pro Bowl Games logo for motivation. But perhaps he should switch it to an All-Pro logo. Being a slot cornerback, it will be difficult for McMillian, who has played 66.7% of Denver’s defensive snaps this season, to be named to the Pro Bowl. […]

Woody Paige: Broncos, Jags set to battle for a little respect

D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Like Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin, the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars have been askin’ for a little respect. Both teams continued to claim they’ve been disparaged, disregarded, disdained, dissed like they’re in the back of the line at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Well, guess what? The Broncos or the Jaguars will […]
