A pedestrian died after a crash on Interstate 25 Friday night, Denver police said on social media.

The crash, which police first posted about just before 10 p.m. Friday, took place on the highway near Alameda Avenue and involved one motorist.

Police initially said the pedestrian experienced serious injuries from the crash; they added another post to the thread at 10 a.m. Saturday confirming that the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
