Evacuations ordered due to wildfire in Fourmile Canyon area of Boulder County
BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Evacuations have been ordered due to a wildfire in the Fourmile Canyon area of Boulder County, according to an emergency alert.
The evacuation order was issued around 5:51 p.m. for an area surrounding Wild Turkey Trail, north of Highway 119 and west of Boulder. Residents should use Evening Star Road for evacuations.
Just after 6 p.m., the sheriff’s office issued an evacuation warning for a larger area of Fourmile Canyon. The sheriff’s office said residents in that area should prepare to evacuate, or evacuate immediately if they need extra time.
Winds in the area are currently gusting in the 20-40 mph range. Relative humidity is low, at 15-20%. Humidity is forecast to increase and wind speeds decrease throughout the evening.
