Hiker in critical condition after 20-foot fall at Red Rocks

A hiker ended up in critical condition on Christmas Eve after taking a big fall at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre.

Details related to the incident were brief, but the fall was said to have occurred on a trail near the Visitor’s Center. The fall was said to be about 20 feet.

Emergency crews responded, including West Metro Fire, and ultimately transported the hiker to a local hospital for medical care.

The press release on the matter wasn’t specific in regard to what trail the hiker was on, though two trails near the Visitor’s Center include the Funicular Trail and the Geologic Overlook Trail.
