Lucky $1.8 billion Powerball winner may never be known

One lucky player has won a $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot in Wednesday’s Christmas Eve drawing, ending a three-month winless streak.

The winning ticket, sold in Arkansas, marked the second time a Powerball jackpot has been won in the state. The first time was in 2010.

The winning numbers were 04, 25, 31, 52 and 59, with the Powerball number being 19.

The single Powerball player won the second-largest prize in U.S. history and the largest Powerball prize of 2025.

But the winner’s identity may never be publicly known, because Arkansas law allows any lottery winner with a prize of $500,000 or more to remain anonymous when claiming the prize.
